Over the past few years, my skin has required much more attention and I always keep my eyes open for the best products and treatments. When I came across Vida Glow’s Marine Collagen supplement on Instagram, I must admit I was a bit skeptical. However, after reading their website and searching individual reviews, I discovered what it can do for our skin, hair and nails to replenish collagen as we age. I decided to give it a try! It comes as a white powder in either individual packets or loosely. Mixing a packet into my coffee every morning is the easiest way to take the supplement – it’s nearly tasteless but this way all taste is guaranteed to be masked. You can also stir into soups, yogurt, smoothies, or just plain water.
After two weeks of using the Original Formula, I can say I definitely noticed a difference in my skin’s texture, and a reduction in blemishes. My hair is growing longer and healthier than it has in awhile, and I find myself having to cut my nails more frequently – they rarely break and are way less brittle! 2 months after regular, daily use I noticed a reduction in cellulite and a smoothing of the skin on the back of my thighs (AWESOME!).
With that success, I purchased their Beauty Blend. There’s no collagen in this one, but tons of healthy ingredients such as chia, flax, pumpkin seeds and raw cocoa powder – all great for hair, skin and nails. The jury is still out for me on this one, as I haven’t managed to work the product into my daily routine. I find the formula only works for me in smoothies and yogurt, as it’s thicker and definitely has a chocolate taste (there are worse things!). I don’t routinely have yogurt/a smoothie each day, so will keep experimenting on how to incorporate the Beauty Blend into my daily meals.

I’ve always been big on atmosphere and aesthetics. Surroundings have such an impact on our emotions and state of mind.
Diffusers have been in my home for years, but I recently fell in love with nebulizers, which release a calming stream of mist into the air. This one from Saje Wellness purifies and humidifies the air while omitting essential oils without the use of heat. It has a really nice shape to it, and the LED ring light around the bottom creates a nice mood.
Also check out Saje’s transition mists, which come in various scents – Yoga is a favourite of mine.
