Instagram is my go-to social media platform. Countless posts by those I follow have motivated me to get some exercise in, go for a walk, prepare a meal from scratch, experiment with a recipe, or play with a new outfit combination. My appreciation of the app has a lot to do with being a bit of an aesthete. I’ve always deeply appreciated aesthetics and the visual nature of Instagram is extremely satisfying. Also, it has the least interruption and unnecessary clutter of the social media sites. Hopefully it will stay that way…
Here are a few accounts I’ve been loving lately. Enjoy!
Food porn, presented in the most unpretentious of ways. No long lists of ingredients followed by flowery descriptions. Good eats. Plain and simple. As the below image is captioned, “Pass me the toast.”

If seeing pictures of these beautiful, toned, fit ladies doesn’t get you motivated to hit the gym, nothing will. Uplifting, inspiring, positive.

I have a few pieces of Nike women’s athletic wear, but I follow this account mostly for the bright colours and striking imagery.

A daily dose of inspiration via typographic quotes. Always meaningful, occasionally silly. I find myself liking and re-graming from this account often.
Fashion blogger Blair Eadie has exquisite style. Her account is filled with shots of her in the chicest of ensembles, but it’s the simple, pared back outfits that I swoon over the most.

Another fashion blogger with covet worthy style who travels the world while writing her blog, managing her online store and contributing to fashion mags. Jealous yet? She’s also super adorable.

I love this man. You know how in interviews sometimes the question is asked “Who, dead or alive, would you have over for your dream dinner party?”.
Jamie Oliver and his lovely wife are totally on my list.
A proper made chicken shawarma is a thing of beauty that requires love and care, but is totally achievable. To make this feast for your family or friends, with all the accompaniments, outside on a barbecue or over an open fire, is next-level cooking!! Check out the recipe in my new book and on tonight's episode of Comfort Food 8pm C4 #ComfortFood
